Designing Garden Guests

You may not know this, but I'm a closet geek - well, a wanna be geek anyway. I enjoy screwing around with css/html. I find it therapeutic for want of a better word.

If you've been here before, Hiya!, you know the drill - scroll down to steal the pics ... (if not - welcome, grab a beer and have a seat), - like I was saying; if you've been here before you may have noticed that I've tarted the old blog up a bit.

I wanted to make it clearer, easier to use and more, well ... 'bloggy' - if that makes sense?.

I have no idea if I have succeeded, or if I've just managed to make everyone crazy with all the tweaks and changes (oh and for you safari people, sorry about the whole disappearing navigation links at the bottom of the posts thing ...)

Anyway, I've been mucking around with templates etc for a while now - too me it's one of the fun things about blogging - and this time round I've learnt quite a bit.

Okay, so it's not the flashest or slickest or whatever, and yep - in firefox the search form gets a bit ordinary, (I could fix it by simply replacing the fontawesome magnifying glass with an image - but meh). Not to mention that if you use ad-blocker or have java disabled some of the icons might be missing and the twitter feed will simply be a link ... but hey, such is life.

Oh, and I finally added a share thingy (it's on your left - at least it bloody well better be). Now I realise, with the price of likes/shares being what they are these days you may be reluctant to use it, however - if you do find something you like, give it a nudge eh?.

Of course this isn't a 'design' blog - oh no, we're in a much more obscure niche ... 'wildlife', worse - 'garden' wildlife. so you know, being ignored and overlooked is almost mandatory. Still, that hasn't stopped me in the past - and it won't stop me in the future either lol.

Actually, on the wildlife front I don't have a lot to share with you (I've been as busy as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest).

But the wolf spider was a nice surprise, I can never pass up the opportunity to snap a dragonfly and the bag moth is, I think, quite remarkable with its lichen covered mobile home.

Well, that's about it - just wanted to update and let ya's know I'm about finished mucking about with the design etc.

Thanks for your patience.

Normal programming will resume next post ...

Remember to share the love! And please let me know if something isn't working or displaying correctly -cheers.

I'm currently working on a little blog for bloggers like me. It's all about how to implement/change things on ya blog - with no B.S or creepy, insidious code or script add on's.

Just simple tips and a bit of CSS/HTML stuff that I hope will help and encourage people who want to personalise their own blogs ... I'll let ya know when it's up and running -

Take care: Paul :)
