I managed a few pics recently that I'm quite pleased with - so I thought I'd post 'em here because I know not everyone does the whole twitter thing (
I often wonder why I do) - but also because this little blog is my own tiny corner of the interwebnet.
While sometimes I worry that I spend too much time on it, I like to think, or at least I hope - that there are people out there who take a little of the affection I have for the critters I post away with them and into their own gardens - (
Ya never know right?) ...
Anyway, here's some pics.

A true predator of the sky! |
|
And water-ways |
|
For over 300 million years |
I don't own a tripod - so getting some crisp images like this is always a bit of a thrill. For me, taking pics is all about patience and persistence, but I enjoy the hell out of it - I really do.
And yay! We have new frogs round the joint - this little guy is about the size of your index finger-nail (if you keep 'em short). I counted around a dozen or so over the time I was taking these pics - it's great news, and hopefully a sign that the garden, as a microhabitat, is pretty healthy.

A less than common - Golden morph, Dwarf frog (Litoria fallax) |
|
A thief, in action! |
This Robber fly (above) had ensconced himself in a bunch of ginger plants to safely enjoy his meal. I don't know what it is - but I've always been fascinated by predators, and these guys will take on anything.

Dart butterflies, creating more Dart butterflies |
Every-so-often, I must admit, I feel a trifle guilty intruding as I do on the intimate lives of the animals that share our garden ... but these Palm Dart Butterflies seemed completely unperturbed by my voyeurism.
The Vegetable Grasshopper (below), is very common ... but, and yes, I say this all the time - their commonality shouldn't preclude them from being admired. For me, the garden would be a much poorer place without them.

Why the long face? |
Now, here's a pic (below) I snapped the other morning with my phone, before heading to work. No doubt someone will ask me what kind of bloody
phone I use now lol ... sigh. Ya had to be there I guess.
|
My kinda Tropical sunrise |
While we're on the subject of pics - pics I've taken that I like etc ... I'm really fond of this one. I posted another, similar pic of the same insect in an older post. But I like this pic - the small shock of colour, the scale. I dunno - I just like it, eh?.
|
The little things - right? |
Excuse the watermark on the pics, I normally don't bother - let's face it, if people are going to steal ya pics, they're going to steal 'em marked or not. I don't get it - just how much pleasure can anyone get from claiming credit for other people's work?
Then again, I suppose it doesn't hurt to have ya mark on a few pics. Especially if I'm posting them on 'social' media sites. Social Media LMAO - now THAT'S an oxymoron ...
Ah well, I hope you enjoyed the pics ...
